What is the role of black masterbatch dispersion and carrier?
Pv:0
The
black masterbatch has a dispersing effect and is a good carrier at the
same time. The dispersion is mainly manifested in that the pigment can
be evenly distributed into the resin, while the carrier mainly plays a
transport role, and the two are closely connected.
The
dispersion of black masterbatch mainly means that the pigment is
further dispersed and stabilized in the resin. At the same time, it must
be compatible with the resin and does not affect the quality of the
coloring product. Polyolefin masterbatch dispersants generally use low molecular weight polyethylene wax or zinc stearate. The
engineering plastic masterbatch dispersants generally use polar low
molecular weight polyethylene wax, magnesium stearate, calcium stearate
and the like. At the same time, the fluidity of the black
masterbatch carrier should be greater than that of the pigmented resin,
and at the same time, it will not affect the product quality after being
colored.
For example, if a polymer with the same melt
index is selected, the melt index of the masterbatch is higher than that
of the polymer, so as to ensure the consistency of the final product. PE,
PP color masterbatch selects LDPE (low density polyethylene) resin as the
carrier, PS, ABS masterbatch selects modified PS as carrier.
