Main cause of color difference of masterbatch
08/10/2018
There are three main reasons for the color difference of the masterbatch:
Extrusion:
The heat resistance of the toner is poor, and the color masterbatch must be low in temperature. Do not allow the material to stay in the extruder for a long time. The extruder die is clogged and the material in the barrel can also cause discoloration. Materials with poor heat resistance cannot be granulated twice. The easily decomposable PVC resin can not be shut down during production to avoid discoloration due to the coke. If
the toner is resistant to shearing, the temperature can be
appropriately lowered and the screw rotation speed can be increased to
increase the viscosity of the melt, and the transfer shearing effect is
large, the toner dispersion is promoted, and the coloring power is
enhanced. If
the pearlescent masterbatch has a slightly poorer effect, the
temperature can be increased, the melt viscosity can be lowered, and the
shear viscosity can be reduced to reduce the pearlite particle size. If
the pearl effect is too good, it can be reversed; if the pearl effect
is poor, reduce the screw speed, increase the temperature, or replace
the screw with small shearing effect. The replacement of the extrusion opportunity causes chromatic
aberration, mainly due to the difference in screw shearing effect
resulting in dispersion inconsistency.
surroundings:
The environmental requirements for color masterbatch production are particularly high. Since most of the coloring agent is a powder, the floating dust in the air is easily polluted by the environment. Isolation and timely cleaning between production lines are necessary and cannot be ignored.
Residues in the equipment will have an impact on the next batch of products. Mixers, extruders, feeding devices, storage tanks, pelletizers, etc. must be thoroughly cleaned. The same kind of carrier resin can be produced from shallow to deep color.
Dark to light colors must be removed by screw removal. The
color masterbatch is produced before and after the same machine, and
the color is affected by incompatibility due to the change of the
carrier resin. Different processing temperatures, melting temperature and decomposition temperature will cause discoloration of the coke. Screw cleaning must be done if necessary.
Human error:
Human error may be: weighing, feeding varieties are wrong, processing workers research. From
understanding customer needs, selecting raw materials, color matching,
masterbatch of color masterbatch, to mass production, each process is
strictly checked and confirmed, which can reduce waste, stabilize and
improve product quality. With
the application of new materials and new technologies, the control
technology of chromatic aberration will continue to improve and improve.
