1. First, the
role of the black masterbatch is to dye the plastic that needs to be dyed in
black.
2. The more important parameter of black masterbatch
is dispersion. Therefore, the formula of black masterbatch should be
reasonable, and the production process should be strict. Otherwise, the surface
of plastic products produced after adding black masterbatch will be with
pitting, pit or water pattern.
3. Black masterbatch formula: usually use carbon
black as the main pigment, with masterbatch carrier and dispersing aid.
4. There are many kinds of carbon blacks applied
to black masterbatch. The low-grade carbon black can only be used to produce
plastic products with common requirements. The blackness is generally low and
the price is also cheap. On the contrary, the production of high-grade plastic
products requires a smooth and delicate surface, blue phase, and
environmentally strict conditions must choose high-grade carbon black.
5. There are also many carriers for black masterbatch,
usually using PE raw materials, which can be easily produced or compatible with
many kinds of plastics. If the plastic product requires a very bright surface
and a small influence on the physical properties, it is necessary to use a
plastic which uses the same raw material as the carrier of the
masterbatch. In order to reduce costs, it is possible to select a regenerative
material of relatively stable quality.
6. There are also a wide variety of dispersants
for black masterbatch, such as PE wax and EBS. In order to reduce costs, it is
also possible to select regenerated wax with relatively stable quality. Calcium
carbonate has also been used as an auxiliary aid to help reduce costs.
7. The black masterbatch of 1usd per kilogram on
the market must use recycled plastic base material, cheap carbon black,
recycled wax as dispersing agent, and also add calcium carbonate as filling.
Only in this way can we reduce costs. Of course, this does not affect its use,
because some plastic products do not need such high requirements, and the cost
can not be accepted.
8. Based on the current raw material prices, the
black masterbatch of at least 2-3usd may have used high-grade
environmentally-friendly carbon black, and may have used new plastic raw
material as the carrier, and new dispersing aid, and without calcium
carbonate. If below this price, one of the raw materials must have used the
cost reduction formula.
In addition, the following items should be noted
when selecting black masterbatch:
1. The choice is more appropriate, not necessarily
the more expensive the better, some color masterbatch is very black on ABS, but
not necessarily black on PP.
2. The more important performance of black masterbatch
is dispersion. It is better to choose more dispersed color masterbatch. It is
also not recommended to choose the so-called blackness and dispersion,
especially for blown film, unless it is used for granulation.
3. Compatibility with raw materials. When the
color masterbatch of different carriers is used in plastic raw materials, it may
lead to delamination of the products due to incompatibility between the two
materials, and the surface of the products may also have pits.
4. Adding a proper amount. If the amount is less,
it will cause uneven, and if the amount is too much, it will affect the physical
properties, which may increase the cost.
5. Stir well with the raw materials, choose the
masterbatch with the size similar to the raw material particles, otherwise the
color masterbatch with smaller particles will sink to the below during the
mixing process, which will cause some products to be dyed, and some products
still remains primary color.
6. The processing temperature should not be too
high or low, otherwise it may cause the plasticization effect of the color
masterbatch to be bad and affect the effect of plastic products.
7. Choose qualified, honest, quality-conscious and
control-oriented suppliers with development capabilities.
