Is there any moisture in the masterbatch? Do you want to dry before use?
The newly produced masterbatch does not contain water because of the high temperature of the masterbatch. After storage for a period of time, ABS, PA, PC, especially PET, etc., must be dried and then used. When the color masterbatch is produced, the material is melted because it enters the screw extrusion. If the moisture content in the material is high, the hydrolysis is easy to occur, and the carrier resin can be degraded (for example, ABS, PA, PET), which seriously affects the product quality. Therefore, the material must be dried prior to extrusion, preferably with a moisture content below 0.05 (e.g., PET).
