There are various carbon black types available in the mall for the color masterbatch, but the colors and prices are very different. Large particle carbon black has a lower color strength and a different base color than a small particle carbon black.

SRF carbon black is commonly used in trash bags that do not require strong color strength, high hiding power or UV maintenance. The color tends to be grayish blue, the price is cheap, and it is relatively easy to disperse, so those small masterbatch manufacturers that are only equipped with single or double screw extruders will pick this carbon black. The particle size of HAF carbon black is half that of SRF carbon black particles, but the color strength is twice of that.

Activity is better.

The third element that decided black masterbatch quality is rheology and activity. Generally, the base resin used to produce the masterbatch has a high rheology. In order to save the cost, some masterbatch producers use reusable materials, scraps or recycled materials as resin carriers.
