In
terms of variety development, China's masterbatch manufacturers have developed
masterbatch for fiber, masterbatch for film, masterbatch for wire and cable,
polyolefin masterbatch, PVC masterbatch, color masterbatch for injection
molding products. In the future, the masterbatch will
develop in the direction of multi-functionality, high color content and high
technology content, mainly in the following aspects:
1. Development of multifunctional
masterbatch
Plastic
or chemical fiber products often require a variety of properties at the same
time, and the coloring and other functions are integrated into the masterbatch,
which is of great significance for improving the performance of plastic or
chemical fiber products and simplifying the production process. The
multifunctional masterbatch includes: coloring, flame retardant and antistatic
multifunctional masterbatch applied to coal products, conductive masterbatch of
chemical fiber fabric applied to coloring, antibacterial, heat preservation,
etc., coloring and toughening masterbatch applied to plastic products.
2. Development of high
performance engineering plastics and thermoplastic elastomer masterbatches
China's
high-performance engineering plastics and thermoplastic elastomers develop
rapidly, such as thermoplastic fluoroplastics and thermoplastic polyurethanes,
and their products also need to be colored with masterbatch. For example,
polyfluoroethylene propylene masterbatch, polyvinylidene fluoride masterbatch,
and thermoplastic polyurethane masterbatch all pose new challenges for the
masterbatch industry. These masterbatch
preparations are very different from traditional masterbatches in the
selection, processing and use conditions of raw materials.
How
to adapt to the ultra-high temperature processing performance of
high-performance engineering plastics and the special processing rheological
properties of thermoplastic elastomers will be the technical problems faced.
3. Development of special grades
of large batch masterbatch
With the rapid development
of China's plastic products industry, the production of masterbatch will
increase significantly compared with the past. Some
masterbatch varieties will no longer be directly supplied to downstream
plastics manufacturers, but will be directly supplied to upstream petrochemical
enterprises. Color masterbatch and resin will be directly used to make color
modified materials, such as pipe materials and automotive special materials. The formation of
this production mode has transformed the production mode of masterbatch, which
has always been characterized by small batches and varieties, into a
single-variety and large-scale production mode. The
change of production mode will also challenge the masterbatch technology. How
to ensure the uniformity of the masterbatch produced and how to adapt to the
large screw granulation technology will be the technical problem to be solved
by this masterbatch.
4. Development of dispersant and
additive for masterbatches
With
the development of multi-functional masterbatch, high-performance engineering
plastics, thermoplastic elastomer masterbatch, and special grades of
large-scale masterbatch, the development of dispersing agents and additives
will be important task in the future of masterbatch industry. Such as the development of composite
dispersants, high temperature dispersants, processing rheology modifiers.
